6. What would you add to the PT program? |
|
|
| Total Number of Comments | 30 | |
- (499487) - i would want to add the use of IMT/Ruck Marches as a norm.30-30s are also good as well.
- (499486) - On/off campus runs
- (499440) - Longer workouts
- (499430) - More running
- (499419) - There are too many days where good PT plans are scrapped for platoon runs. I'm not getting the PT I want at all anymore.
- (499141) - More focused sessions/longer time spent on certain muscles instead of trying to hit the whole body in one pt session.
Possibly a class early on regarding nutrition especially for post-pt days.
- (498904) - longer pt sessions. swimming sessions and the use of the gym (weights) and/or basket ball courts for indoor workouts.
- (498889) - Mock PT tests
- (498826) - More sports days like soccer, football. These activities are not only fun but you get a great workout and possibly swimming pt.
- (498819) - more running
- (498796) - PT meeting 5 days a week to improve physical fitness and military bearing/dicipline as well as having a battalion fun day once a month to improve unit cohesion.

7. What would you remove from the PT Program? |
|
|
| Total Number of Comments | 25 | |
- (499487) - There is nothing i would remove from the program per say.
- (499440) - Crappy evaluators and the long attendance "call-out"
- (499430) - More MSIII influence
- (499419) - Catering to the weakest individuals or weakening a PT plan for a good evaluation
- (499141) - long stretching beforehand
- (499075) - A lot PT gets cancelled... but we definitely could use it.
- (498904) - all the changes on the schedule that are done constantly.
- (498889) - nothing
- (498819) - none
- (498796) - Written evaluations. 4's are learning as we are learning. I believe an informal approach would be a more effective training tool than to sign a written evaluation.
- (498745) - plyometrics

8. Was there anything removed from the PT program this semester that you would like to see return? |
|
|
| Total Number of Comments | 25 | |
- (499487) - No there arent.
- (499430) - No
- (499419) - Running that actually exercises me.
- (499141) - no
- (498904) - ?
- (498889) - no
- (498826) - Push Up and Sit Up improvement.
- (498819) - no
- (498796) - Segregation. The battalion should stick together. RC sets the example for physical fitness, for the younger cadets seeing the dedication of those standing tall may give them that extra incentive to work harder. They lead by example and I understand they start off earlier than the rest of the battalion but maybe that is something that could be improved upon aswell. Afterall this is the III's and IV's battalion, why shouldn't we rock the boat.
- (498746) - I thought leading PT as a company was better than just by platoon
- (498745) - running

11. What do you think had the biggest impact on your increase/decreased PT score? (Required) |
|
|
| Total Number of Comments | 34 | |
- (516589) - the new pt program
- (516206) - The Warm-Ups
- (499487) - My constant increase of cardiovascular exercises ( running at least 2-3 miles a day.
- (499486) - PTing on my own time on top of regular PT.
- (499440) - Working out outside of ROTC
- (499430) - Join RC
- (499419) - The running, we're simply not doing it hard enough in PT sessions
- (499141) - Running on my own, but also new and varied workouts that included strength training at PT.
- (499075) - I was just rusty coming back from the break. And skipping the first week of PT didnt help (bc of the class). If the PT test was a week later I think alot of scores would have been better.
- (498904) - i shaved off about 15 sec off my pt run thanks to more running
- (498889) - not doing PT on my own as much.

12. Any other comments regarding the PT program from SPRING 2010? |
|
|
| Total Number of Comments | 16 | |
- (499419) - It started off strong and now everyone is doing lamer versions of the PT plans because of some lame excuse like weather or time. Some cadets need to learn to be flexible while leading PT instead of reverting to the easiest possible exercises.
- (499075) - It has improved.
- (498904) - longer pt sessions. swimming sessions and the use of the gym (weights) and/or basket ball courts for indoor workouts.
- (498796) - Continue to envolve MS II's for conducting PT.
- (498735) - We need to take it back to the basics - pushups, situps and running. It may be boring, but at least we'll get them to pass the PT test. It's like we're teaching them to rappel from helicopters and takedown buildings, when what we NEED to teach them is movement to contact.
- (498732) - The classes in the beginning of the semester were totally worthless, they have no impact on how we run PT, knowing the Latin roots of what hand movements are called do not halp use develop our plans nor does it help us in any way. Time could have been better spent with we studied PT plans that were successful and discussed what made them that way, and vice versa so we can learn from the mistakes of others.
- (498725) - No.
- (498720) - Incorporate creativity, emphasis on creativity and use of resources available, i.e. school gym, if we can use the pool, basketball courts, etc.
- (497259) - It seems the MS threes that are ability group leaders do not really push the element which causes the entire element to run at a slow pace
- (496064) - WE NEED TO GO FOR 2-4 MILE RUNS. OR 35 TO 45 MINUTE RUNS.
- (495505) - More distance running and designated push up sit up time for two mins. circuits do not cut it. ppl get lazy.
